Costa Rica News & Events – Christmas music brings a type of warmth not seen in other seasons. The National Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Choir are offering a series of free Christmas concerts for all to enjoy.
It will start on Monday in the gym of the Colegio Técnico de Tabarcia de Mora at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday at 7:30 they will play at the Catedral de Alajuela then on Wednesday at 7:15 in the Catholic Church in El Guarco de Cartago. Vásquez de Coronado’s Catholic Church will host the event on Thursday at 7 and the final performance will be in the Catedral Metropolitana de San José at 7 on Friday.
The director, Ramiro Ramírez, explained that the concerts are an opportunity for them to share music with those who wouldn’t ordinarily come into the theater.
The concerts are also part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the National Symphonic Choir. The concerts will feature dances and songs like O Holy Night and other classics.
The Symphonic Orchestra of La Union will also present a Christmas program.
It will be in the Catholic Church of Tres Ríos on the 14th at 7:30.
This presentation will feature the German violinist Andreas Neufeld. At this event, they will collect toys to donate to the children of the community.
