Costa Rica News – Multinational companies in Costa Rica are opening job spaces for those over age 40. They are increasingly open to hiring older staff because they bring about a cultural, family and experience balance.
They bring a stable and different view that often promotes conflict resolution and decreases turnover.
There will be a job fair put on by the Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives (Cinde) this weekend. The hours are 9-5 Friday and Saturday and 10-4 Sunday at Antigua Aduana.
Human resources personnel will especially be looking for people with special skills like technical English, though many companies now have programs to train those they hire in the skills needed.
The average age of those working in service companies is 29 years but 25% of the staff is over age 40. People 40 and up are urged to register online for the fair.
