Beware of the newest scam! The Ministry of Health put out an alert to warn the public that there are false fumigators visiting houses and charging people. These scammers are posing as officials of the Ministry of Health, according to Melissa Ramírez, general director of the Ministry of Health.
While the Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health does carry out fumigations to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, these are controlled and they are free of charge. Real officials have specific uniforms and identification and do not charge anything.
If you have any doubts about fumigations coordinated by the Ministry of Health, you can go to or call the local health clinics or the Ministry itself. If you have any complaints or someone tries to charge you, please send a message to [email protected]
The Ministry suggests that you not accept any services that you have not requested, to avoid being scammed.
