Costa Rica News – Three forensic doctors will go to court for an administrative trial.
They are accused of inventing diseases of an official, allegedly with intent to alter the opinion of whether retirement was best.
The Court of Judicial Inspection will hear the case and discuss the possible liability of the doctors. A document given by them served as the basis for deciding the ex judge’s retirement.
The press office of the Judiciary confirmed that the woman, María Victoria Salas Ruiz, 33, believes the doctors conspired to retire her. The doctors indicated that she had interstitial pulmonary fibrosis and recommended her retirement. She was pensioned but it was later revoked because of a statement from Hospital México that she does not suffer from that disease.
The hearing will be held orally and privately. It will be on July 19th. Then it will be decided whether the professionals’ actions deserve to receive an administrative sanction.
