Costa Rica Travel – It is not that expensive to get to and from Costa Rica as we are about to start high season in the country.
If you’re looking to take a relaxing beach vacation or go on an outdoor adventure through a rainforest, Costa Rica is a great choice — and now’s the time to score a cheap flight. Flights are starting at $196 round-trip.
The cheap airfares are available from several U.S. cities from late September through December. Prices typically start to go up in January, depending on your home airport.
Flights to Costa Rica’s capital San Jose start at $196 round-trip from Fort Lauderdale and Orlando on Spirit Airlines. (Spirit is a budget airline, so double check any fees before booking to make sure you’re getting the deal you want.)
Round-trip flights to San Jose start at $277 (on United) from Dallas, as well as from Phoenix (on American). There are also round-trip flights to San Jose starting at $285 from Houston, Baltimore, Boston, Denver, Detroit, Newark, Washington, D.C., and more.
While most of the deals are to San Jose, there are also cheap flights to Liberia, including $332 round-trip from New York City.
From either airport, travelers can drive into Costa Rica’s La Fortuna de San Carlos region, which took the top spot for TripAdvisor’s best destination for travel experiences with activities that include everything from volcano hiking to waterfall treks and sloth spotting.
