Costa Rica News – The Criminal Court of San José has confirmed that the driver responsible for running over a Venezuelan athlete, David Gabriel Yanes Pacheco, and killing him will remain free.

The judges considered factors such as that he has significant roots here such as family and work ability and decided not to overturn the measures previously issued in court.
He will have to maintain a fixed address and sign in at a judicial office every 15 days. He is not allowed to leave the country.
The accident happened during the half marathon of San José, on Sunday, October 22. He overtook a line of vehicles stopped by a traffic jam and ran over the athlete.
He tried to get away but was stopped by officers 600 meters away.
