Costa Rica is a sports fishing enthusiast’s paradise because of its rich marine life. You can find some of the world’s best deep sea fishing spots in the surrounding seas from the central, south, and north Pacific, north Caribbean, and near the Nicaraguan border.
There are various game fishes to be caught in the Pacific Coasts. Sailfish, Snapper, Dorado, and Roosterfish can be caught year round. Blue Marlins and Yellow Tuna, on the other, will bite from April to December. If you want to try catching Black Marlin, it’s best to go May, June, October, and November.
There is no lack of establishments offering their boats and experience to those interested in taking a fishing trip during their vacation. From Los Suenos to Manuel Antonio in the Central Pacific, Tamarindo to Papagayo in the North Pacific; there are literally hundreds of boats you can charter, specializing in certain species if you are interested in catching a specific fish.
