Return of the International Book Fair
After a hiatus of 18 years, the much-anticipated International Book Fair is making a grand comeback to Costa Rica. The dual venues chosen for this iconic cultural rendezvous are the Pedregal Event Center and the renowned Children’s Museum.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 26, when the fair will kick off. Notable personalities such as Jaime Bayly are scheduled to showcase their latest works, ensuring attendees get a taste of contemporary literary brilliance.
International Talents to Look Out For
- From Brazil: Alex Marzzo is set to charm young readers with two distinctive shows: ‘Super Mágico’ and ‘Lendas da Amazônia Brasileira.’
- Mexican Mastery: Benito Taibo, a prolific writer from Mexico, will be present, eagerly waiting to introduce his array of recent publications.
- Argentinian Insights: Attendees will also have the chance to meet the Argentinian writer and journalist, Sonia Santoro.
- Mexican Healing: Gaby Pérez from Mexico is another name to watch out for. Her fresh-off-the-press book on mending broken hearts and navigating through loss promises to resonate with many.
Fair Features and Amenities
For an entry fee of ₡4,000, visitors will be greeted by over 100 stands teeming with bookstores, publishing houses, and international authors. A little birdie tells us there might be a shuffle in the stands come the second week, so multiple visits could be rewarding!
For our younger bibliophiles, two dedicated rooms at the Children’s Museum will host a myriad of activities. Additionally, there will be three separate spaces available for engaging forums.
