The National Olympic Committee has ¢1,000 million to be used for warm-ups and participation of Costa Rican competitors for the Pan American Games in Lima in 2019. These athletes have their eyes on Tokyo 2020.
₡546 million was transferred by the Icoder. The president of the republic and the Minister of Sports were some of the guests at the act of transfer. These funds are added to the ₡550 million advanced last July.
In total, ¢1,096 million has been received from the State for the administrative management, multidisciplinary team and preparation and participation of athletes in the Olympic cycle.
The focus right now is on the first commitment, Peru, but also being analyzed is the cost of the whole Olympic cycle, estimated at about ¢2 billion. Additionally, China will donate $11 million to modernize the National Stadium, guaranteeing safety and delivering specialized equipment.
