Costa Rica News – Costa Rica is showing how big a baby it really is. Nicaragua has plans to build a canal that will rival the Panama Canal in terms of shipping through Central America. Costa Rica feels like the lat kid picked at the kickball game.
Panama has the canal below them. Nicaragua is building the canal above them. All that Costa Rica is left with just the envy of their neighbors.
Costa Rica is asking the United Nations’ highest court to call a halt to construction by Nicaragua of two canals linking the Caribbean to the San Juan river near the two countries’ border.
A hearing at the International Court of Justice on Monday is the latest legal skirmish in a long-running dispute between the Latin American neighbors over the remote border region.
Costa Rica’s agent to the court, Edgar Ugalde Alvarez, says his country wants the court to order an immediate stop to Nicaraguan dredging in the new canals, and the withdrawal of all Nicaraguan personnel from the area.
Costa Rica says it discovered the new canals recently on satellite images.
Nicaragua is scheduled to address the court Tuesday.
What is funny is this is coming after Costa Rica is going to be dredging the port of Limon in order to put together the Moin Container terminal. So they can do what they want to their country and their waters but Nicaragua cannot do what it wants to it’s waters?
Perhaps you are just mad because China has already bought all your natural resources for just a National Stadium, some police cars and some cash and Nicaragua has cashed in for a much bigger prize.
Why don’t you just say you are just being a baby because of your little non-existent border battle with Nicaragua and now you are crying to the teacher……..
