Costa Rica News – Who is ready to enjoy time with their pet at the airport?
The Juan Santamaría Airport will look much different in December, with the addition of a new building completed. This will house an additional 600 passengers per hour in four new boarding rooms.
The new boarding hall will also have a VIP lounge, restaurant and a special area for pets. Travelers can check in and drop off baggage there too. There will even be self check in kiosks.
The four-level building will be next to the air terminal and will consist of over 6,000 square meters. It will allow for staff to place four planes, including two wide-body aircraft, simultaneously.
These works have a cost of $20 million. Also in December, the airport will launch a new lighting system on the runway, since the current one has never been updated since its inauguration in the 1960s.
