There are a total of 45 high class hotels in the country, including 13 registered with the Costa Rican Tourism Institute as boutique hotels. These offer a high quality, reliable personalized service.
The seven newest boutique hotels will add 291 rooms and provide 213 jobs.
They are at various stages in the permitting and construction processes. One of the most advanced is Altagracia, which is open but will become fully operational starting June 1.
These types of hotels are not for the masses, but for a few affluent clients who can pay for the highest level of tranquility, comfort, ambiance and service.
Luxury hotels have seen strong growth over the last few years and seen success even during the most recent economic crisis.
