Good news for Costa Rican product exporters and enterprising groups!
In a collective effort between the Ministerio de Comercio Exterior (COMEX), Promotora del Comercio Exterior de Costa Rica (PROCOMER), the Banco Nacional and ICE, the government has kick started two fresh initiatives to encourage entrepreneurs and liven up the export industry.
COMEX plans to improve the Ventanilla Unica para Comercio Exterior or VUCE, an electronic platform that polarizes the laws and regulations Costa Rican exporter need to meet, making it easier to setup an exporting business. The goal of the upgrade is to make the platform operational 24/7, even on holidays. There would be no restrictions to those who want to access the platform according to COMEX Minister Anabel Gonzales. VUCE 2.0 will be launched in the next couple of months.
On the other hand, Conectad@s aims to help small businesses by aiding them to be competitive in terms of internet connectivity and offer online banking services to help boost productivity for start up establishments. An estimated 8,000 small business ventures would profit greatly from this initiative. Banco Nacional and ICE’s partnership has teamed up to offer the program to Costa Rican entrepreneurs. Conectad@s is launched this week.
