Costa Rica Entertainment News – The play, “Perra vida, dulces sueños” has started and it’s one you can’t miss. Directed by Fabian Sales, this piece reflects on the work life and how much attention and priority we give to it.
The two main characters are employees at the same place but don’t know each other. They do, however, feel the same way. They each present feelings of failure that affect every aspect of life, from work to love.
This is a feeling many can relate to. In jobs that make people feel like machines being used to their maximum potential, people need to be challenged by the message in this play, “Work to live, don’t live to work.” When work is allowed to become all we are, it fuels rage and hatred against oneself and others. This conflict arises in the play.
“Perra vida, dulces sueños” won the live scene in Spanish category in awards given out at the Spanish Cultural Center by the National Theatre Company.
What is striking about it is how upfront the message is. It’s what a modern audience craves.
