Bridgestone is to invest $250 million in Costa Rica, creating 160 permanent jobs. This multinational company is going to increase its manufacture of tires by 36%. Additionally, it will update its technologies.
The company has seen that Costa Rica has a workforce very focused on quality, so it continues to invest here. Since 2020, it has invested $38.5 million. It currently has 1,850 employees in the country. It seeks employees committed to its objectives, like efficient cost with the least amount of waste. The company seeks to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
The new investment will take place between 2022 and 2026. It will include purchasing equipment and technologies and replacing two fuel-based boilers with electric versions. By the end of this period, the company will be producing 15,000 tires per day.
By expanding technology and capacity, the company is setting itself up to supply future markets in Costa Rica, the U.S., and Latin America.
