Costa Rica News – It’s now been four years since the fraud regarding baccalaureate tests happened and still the responsible parties have not been established officially. There are, however, two suspects.
The details started coming to light when the Siquirres OIJ conducted raids in the province of Limon. They confiscated some 105 phones and the bribery related to the tests became apparent.
12 students admitted facts to suspend the trial process last year. By going this route they avoided trial and agreed to do community service.
The suspects are the director of an educational center in Batan and the delegate of the MEP in Matina. They are not allowed to leave the country while the investigation is ongoing. It’s in the final stage. They are also not allowed access to high school tests.
If found guilty of accepting bribes, they could spend two to six years in prison and be disqualified from public office and employment.
