Costa Rica News – The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) found a woman’s body semi-covered in a wooded area of San Antonio de Escazú.
It is presumed that the body belongs to Carla Stefaniak, 36, who had disappeared on November 28th.
The cadaver was found on the property of the hotel Le Mas de Provence, 80 meters from her room. It was found by dogs trained to search for human remains. They also found blood in the room she occupied before disappearing.
The police chief clarifies that until after the autopsy they won’t be sure if it is in fact Carla Stefaniak. In addition to the autopsy, the blood will be compared.
The lawyer from the hotel says the situation has them very worried and they have collaborated with police ever since the family reported the woman missing.
The tourist entered the hotel at 1 pm, left in the afternoon, came back at 4pm and did not come back out. There was a change of guard at 6pm and he explained that at 5am a vehicle came to pick up the girl. Later, at 8:30 am, an Uber came the pick her up but the guard at that time told him she had already left, based on what the overnight guard said.
