Costa Rica News – Costa Rica’s beaches offer favorable conditions this Holy Week.
There are not many strong waves or rip currents expected in most areas, but still one should always take caution just in case.
Omar Lizano is an oceanographer who predicts the waves will be between 1 and 13 meters high in the Pacific. Although strong waves and winds are not anticipated there are other dangers such as unseen rocks and irregular reefs.
In the Caribbean, waves will rise from Wednesday to Friday. Still, the maximum should be 2.5 meters, which doesn’t cause a risk to boaters.
In this area dangerous currents are expected, however.
Experts put forth some reminders after troubles in past years.
These include not leaving kids alone near water, not bathing after taking any substance that affects your senses, and staying out of the water and boats if there is lightning.
