Banks are restarting the collections that were put on hold because of covid-19. The idea of additional massive adjustments is not being considered at the moment.
Many of the grace period operations started in March. These will start payments again this month. Those who accepted the flexibilities to suspend obligations later than March will have until July to start payments.
There were originally automatic extensions. Once the grace period expires, clients needing further time should contact the financial entity directly as there will not be massive automatic suspensions of payment.
The only exceptions will be those in commerce and tourism. Clients linked to those activities will have an extension for six months to a year.
Debts include credit cards, mortgage loans, and vehicles, for individuals and companies. Millions have been helped by the extension. The main adjustments were in credit cards. Flexibility was granted to 1.7 million credit card users.
