Major Changes in Branch Hours to Better Serve Customers
The Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (BNCR) is set to modify the operating hours of its 152 branches across the country, starting August 5. This change aims to better align with the habits, customs, and needs of its 2.6 million customers. According to the bank, the new schedule will provide more convenience and accessibility.
Changes in Opening and Closing Times
In a press release issued on Monday, BNCR announced that 131 of its branches will open 30 minutes later than usual. Meanwhile, 21 branches will close earlier in the evening.
The updated schedule for 86% of the branches will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:20 p.m., a shift from the current hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. For the 21 branches located in shopping centers, the new hours will be from 10:10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., replacing the previous hours of 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Reason Behind the Change
Adrián Salazar, BNCR’s Deputy General Manager of Commerce, explained to La Nación that the decision to adjust the hours came after analyzing customer traffic patterns at various branches. “We decided to update our hours so that customers always find an open branch ready to meet their needs. The update is part of our continuous improvement efforts,” said Salazar.
Salazar added that the unified operating hours across all branches are designed to provide services during peak demand times. “Our goal with these changes is to ensure we are available when our customers need us most,” he affirmed.
