Costa Rica News – Yet again, there has been an attack on a tourist in Costa Rica. A man is in jail suspected of raping and assaulting an Argentine tourist in Sámara. The case is under an ongoing investigation.
The suspect has three months of preventive prison related to the crime allegedly committed on Thursday, August 30th. He was captured Friday by officers of the Public Force.
A friend of the victim urged her to report what happened, according to the Ministry of Public Security. After the arrest, an integral approach was carried out to help the affected person.
President Carlos Alvarado Quesada announced on August 9 that $1 million annually for the next four years will be allocated to tourism security. Also announced was the launch of an application with warnings and safety tips for tourists which will be ready in December.
