Costa Rica News – Does anyone truly believe that China is giving these things to Costa Rica and expecting nothing in return?
The Government is evaluating whether to accept the donation of a propeller plane offered by China in exchange of the purchase of two other aircraft for air surveillance purposes.
The proposal was made in December, shortly before President Luis Guillermo Solis’s visit to the Asian nation at the beginning of January to meet with the country’s President Xi Jingpin.
No details have been released on the worth or features of the aircraft.
A press release stated only that it would be intended for use by the Ministry of Security.
The government is analysing options.
While this donation is being studied, another donation of $24 million was accepted.
A press release from the government has debunked previous rumors reported that the plane would be used by President Solis himself.
