Costa Rica Sports – All eyes have been on Andrey Amador in the Tour de France. He was definitely the star of stage 19.
The Movistar Team needed a risky and aggressive strategy and Andrey Amador was it’s main card. Mikel Landa, Nairo Quintana and Geraint Thomas each had a part to play as well.
Amador’s performance throughout can be considered exceptional. He’s even been referred to as the MVP.
18 days of racing takes a lot. There were 18 riders, including Amador and his partner Daniele Bennati, in the leading group. Amador finished the day in position 96, at 32:05 and all days considered, he is in position 49 at 2:00:32.
This year marks the tico’s last season of his contract with the Movistar team. He is one of 200 cyclists with ending contracts.
