Costa Rica Travel News – Costa Rica was once known as a backpackers’ country, characterized by hostels and campgrounds. Now, it is also on the radar for those looking for a luxurious getaway. A new five-star property will open along the abundant Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The Andaz Peninsula Papagayo is set to open on December 20th. It will be the first Andaz brand property in Latin America.
The resort is set on Guanacaste’s Papagayo Peninsula. It features 153 rooms, many of which are ocean view suites that overlook the Bay of Culebra. Architect Ronald Zurcher ensured that the property compliments the beauty that surrounds it. The designers also brought nature inside the hotel, with woven textiles and driftwood carvings.
The management of the Andaz has chosen cultural insiders to consult on the design and offerings of the property. Twin brothers Alex and Mike are in charge of surf packages, like the Witches Rock Surf Package, which includes a professional photographer who will come along to record your ride at Witches Rock National Park.
They have Salvador Odrec of Cartago, whose work will be displayed in the art salon and Jared Dietch, as the musical curator. The cultural insiders have thought through every detail, down to the footwear you will see on the staff members.
The resort is eco-friendly, offering healthy options in the minibars, specialty bath products, and a farm-to-table restaurant. The property also contains the Sanctuary Spa, two infinity pools, three themed restaurants, a marina bar, a fitness center, and a private beach. The hotel is conveniently located 20 minutes from the international airport in Liberia. Rates start at $700.
