Costa Rica Travel – Air France is to increase its direct operations to Costa Rica for next year, the 2017-2018 season.
It will go from offering just two flights a week to three, adding Monday to the existing Wednesday and Saturday schedule.
Additionally, the airline will extend its season to go from the end of October to the end of April instead of from November to the end of March as it is this year.
The company’s inaugural flight from France to Costa Rica was last November. The airline will keep using the Boeing 777-300, the largest passenger aircraft to regularly land at the Juan Santamaria International Airport. It can hold 468 people and has been operating at 80% capacity.
Air France’s increase in frequencies stimulates tourism, promotes a cultural exchange and benefits foreign trade with greater connectivity.
47,227 French entered by air in 2015 and that jumped to 53,743 in 2016, with just two months of Air France operating.
