Costa Rica has a campaign going in Spain, inviting Spaniards to visit the country. The three week campaign started yesterday and is being conducted in plazas and train stations throughout Madrid.
Impressive videos of Costa Rica are shown at the Atocha train station, which sees 1.8 million people in transit each day. The campaign, launched by the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, says “I’m pura vida. And you? When are you coming?”
The promotional video is shown 1,000 times a day on large screens. Additionally, the electric ramps to access a high-speed train from Madrid to Barcelona have been decorated inspired by typical Sarchí carts.
This campaign is aimed at a growing market. Spain is our fourth largest source of tourists from Europe. 69,000 Spanish tourists visited Costa Rica last year. They stay an average of 13 nights and spend $198 per day.
