Costa Rica News – Minae is teaming up with the US Geological Survey to analyze underground waters in Costa Rica.
In 14 months they plan to be done with a digital mapping to know all about the national aquifers.
The idea is to know exactly where the groundwater is, in what quantities, and the quality in each location. This will lead to knowledge about the best way to take advantage of the water.
The agreement to collaborate was signed on Monday morning. The agreement includes the use of WATEX technology, a technology for getting images of groundwater and clarifying its levels and quality.
This will help communities improve water access in times of drought. Artificial reserves can be made where rainwater is contained. The country will gain important information for the responsible use of water resources, improving quality of life for many people.
