Costa Rica News – The company Coriport is concessionaire of the passenger building of Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia.
It intends to take over the runway, too, giving it full control of the airport.
The Civil Aviation Technical Council will request authorization from the Comptroller General of the Republic to extend the contract originally given to Coriport.
The landing area needs expansion and improvements as does the main salon, to accommodate six more checkpoints. The company is willing to rehabilitate the airstrip, construct a taxiway for planes preparing for take-off, create spaces for parking aircraft and make a new drainage system. The amount of the investment has not been made public.
Since the administration of the passenger building and the these new activities are complementary, it is expected that the proposal will be authorized and added to the concession contract.
