Costa Rica Arts & Culture – The Art City Tour is one of my favorite events in San Jose. This past week was the fifth such event, in which all of the Costa Ricans are invited to get to know their capital city, specifically the museums, for free.
There was a tour outlined that included museums, art galleries, and historic sites throughout the city. GAM Cultural organized groups so that they started at different places and continued by foot, bus, or bike.
One of the most special stops was a new exposition at the Museum of Costa Rican Art, a day before its official inauguration.
There were also one time performances and expositions that change frequently. There’s always something new to see on an Art City Tour.
The estimated number of people that took part in the event is about 28,600. It was a great opportunity to rediscover the various artistic spots in the city that are often overlooked by locals.
They got to be tourists for a night.
