Costa Rica News – Ten young Costa Ricans are representing the country in the World Robotics Olympiad in New Delhi, India from November 25 to 27.
They are from a group of 341 participants that took part in the national final. The World Robotics Olympiad 2017 will be in Costa Rica.
One category was robots playing soccer. Another is a robot that cleans the school in some way. A third is a robot that can identify waste and classify recyclables.
Other robots in the competition made beds and played bowling.
Students from ages 7 to 25 participated in the qualifier which was held over the weekend in Cartago. There were a variety of requirements for the different age groups.
It was great to see elementary school students and university students who study Mechatronics Engineering come together over this passion for robotics.
