A special vote was held on Saturday, resulting in 85% of members supporting the proposal for the construction of a new stadium in Alajuela. With massive support, the project moves forward.
965 members voted for the proposal. Seven requirements were set forth, each of which is essential in order to start the project, which will be built from January 2023 to December 2024 and be inaugurated in January 2025, if all goes as planned.
The option to purchase the land must be formalized and signed. The bank premium trust must be formalized. Pre-sale would start next, followed by the design stage and application for a building permit. Technical viability would be the next milestone. Then there would be a bidding process for the construction contract. Lastly, construction would begin when at least $4.2 million has been collected from pre-sales.
Financing options will allow members to purchase chairs for 15 years or year by year if they prefer.
