Costa Rica is one of the finalists to hold the world summit of young leaders from the One Young World organization. Representatives are in the country inspecting possible venues where it could take place.
There are seven other destinations still in the running to hold the event which brings together 3,000 young leaders. They are Belfast, Delhi, Dubai, Kigali, Monterrey, Montreal, and Sao Paulo.
The representatives are looking for iconic sites that could be used in ceremonies as well as places the main event can be held. Historically, they chose cities with passion for important issues. When the theme was peace and reconciliation, it was held in bogota. When it was human rights, it was held in The Hague.
If Costa Rica is chosen to organize the 2023 summit, a special concert could commemorate the 75 years of the abolition of the army, a great achievement.
The young people who participate in these conferences go on to change the world one community at a time. 21 million people have been impacted by their work.
