The Government will pay bonuses on December 12th. The Ministry of Finance confirmed this on Monday. It was supposed to be paid on December 6th but will be paid late, tomorrow.
This bonus is for workers and pensioners who depend on the national budget. The Ministry will deposit about ¢208,000 million towards bonuses for 213,126 payments to officials of the ministries, attached institutions, the Legislative Assembly, the Judiciary, the Ombudsman’s Office, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, the Comptroller’s Office General of the Republic, and pensioners charged to the national budget.
Pensions charged to the national budget are Treasury and Legislative Power, National Magisterium, Postal Services, Telegraphs and Radios, Musicians of the Military Bands, Public Registry, Public Works and Transports, and Electric Railway to the Pacific. Additionally there are some non-contributory pensions coming from this budget, such as Republic Presidents and victims of war, among others.
The delay in the payment is due to limited liquidity of the Ministry of Finance due to the financial crisis.
