The Shnit Festival seeks to get more Ticos creating films. There is a talent here that now has a great outlet to become seen and known among locals and internationals alike.
You have until June 1st to register. Costa Ricans can register for free.
The festival, in its eighth edition, is to be held from October 17-21 with an international category and a “Made in Costa Rica” one. It is held mainly in the Magaly Cinema with some additional locations as alternates.
Productions can be of any genre, including animated ones. The only condition is that they must not last more than 40 minutes including credits. To register your short film you can enter the site shnit.delefoco.com and look for the electronic participation link.
The winning short films have prizes totaling $20,000. The winner among those made in Costa Rica will be granted A/V services and rental of camera and lighting equipment for the realization of his or her next short film. In addition to the official awards there will be one from the public that endows the winner with $5,000.
