Costa Rica News – The Minister of Security has performed an 8-hour-long mega-operation throughout Costa Rica. He has seen extensive reviews of and made walking tours of troubled neighborhoods.
The police have found that from 4pm to midnight there are the most incidents of drug dealing, crimes against properties, homicides and other crimes. This comes from an analysis of the criminal incidence of the whole country. It also showed Fridays have a higher incidence of crime.
The broad operation performed with the Minister of Security resulted in confiscated weapons and small quantities of drugs. The official count will be announced on Saturday.
One of the objectives of the operation is to avoid criminal acts from happening, with the idea that potential criminals will often choose to stay home when they see ample police presence.
