Costa Rica News – Ticos now have a new way to streamline banking procedures, through an artificial intelligence system called Layla.
This chatbox service allows actions such as requesting a loan, checking card balance, blocking it in case of loss, or seeing an account statement.
Bots are computer programs that perform automated tasks to help clients meet their needs. There is a clear trend towards this type of technology. Big companies already use it, such as Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri. Costa Rica has had a taste of this type of service with Edna, a bot used to attain goods or services.
Layla is incorporated into existing instant messaging applications, like Facebook, Messenger and Skype or on web pages. The client enters a chat and requests to execute an action. This can be done by voice or text. Layla then verifies the person’s identity and guides them through the process to solve their request.
This service is available at all times, making banking easier and more accessible. The chats are secure in that they are not stored.
