Costa Rica News – UCR chemistry students created a cream based on aromatherapy that is meant to support people with anxiety. It includes the essences bergamot and lavender and contains aloe and collagen.
38 students were involved in the project. They applied what they learned over four years and with much effort and little sleep came up with Nova Scent.
The students set up their lab like entrepreneurs. They were resourceful.
They extracted the collagen from cow bones themselves.
They made sure to properly handle waste generated. They started with 15 oils and did surveys about the combinations people liked.
The creation was presented at the central campus earlier this months. Students, professionals and investors learned about the product. There was special packaging, posters and a commercial created.
The product is ready to be registered with the Ministry of Health. On the market it will cost about $25.
