Costa Rica News – Hanna Gabriel hadn’t fought in Costa Rica in two years. She trained for months on end for her most recent fight, one that would take place in her homeland.
It paid off, as she was able to retain her double world title.
The national boxer successfully defeated Canadian Natasha Spence on Saturday by a unanimous decision. This meant that she defended her 154-pound world titles of the World Boxing Association and the World Boxing Organization.
The fight was a serious exchange of strong blows and little defense. Spence tried to reduce Hanna’s throws. The judges had to separate them. The combat extended until the tenth round.
Hanna had come into the fight with a record of 16 wins, a loss and a draw. Spence had eight wins, two losses and a draw.
Neither had fought since last year, Hanna in June and Spence in May.
