Costa Rica News – Suspended for life is not something anyone wants to hear but such was the fate of Eduardo Li, former president of the Costa Rican Football Federation, according to the decision making body of the FIFA Ethics Committee.
Li, who was also a member of the Executive Committee of CONCACAF, is now prohibited from exercising any kind of activity related to football, said the statement given on Friday.
He violated numerous parts of the FIFA Code of Ethics related to conduct, loyalty, conflict of interests, bribery and corruption.
He was one of the first seven arrested in this scandal.
He may not participate in the sport even on an administrative level nationally or internationally after receiving illegal payments from sports marketing companies.
He was guilty of unlawful association, computer crime and cybercrime.
