Costa Rica News – A new event center is being built in Costa Rica and it will target an $11 billion annual market.
The construction process began in January and is expected to take just one year to complete.
The ICT, with the president and the minister of tourism, placed the foundation stone of the convention center yesterday, February 1st. The building will be 10,600 square meters on 10 hectares.
The market it is aiming to reach is that of international congresses and conventions. The country already has a share in this market.
This type of tourism generates 120 million annual delegates so far.
Each year, 120,000 congresses are held worldwide and Costa Rica hopes more of them will be in its territory with this new arena ready for it.
The country will participate in specialized trade fairs in this field to promote the National Center of Congresses and Conventions.
