Costa Rica News – Due to tropical storm Otto people in Costa Rica should remain aware of updates put forth for public safety. While many of you were planning shopping sprees this weekend that will likely have to wait because of the weather.
Some stores have changed or extended Black Friday sales due to Hurricane Otto. Walmart went as far as to completely move “Black Weekend” to next weekend, December 2-4.
Gollo and Curacao will keep discounts going until December 2.
The Free Trade Zone in Golfito will have to completely close on Thursday and Friday due to its location and that of the hurricane. The Regional Development Board of the southern area announced the closure. Depending on conditions, it may remain closed through the weekend. Black Friday offers will expand through the first two weeks of December in this location.
There will also be end of the year sales.
Monge stores, even in vulnerable areas, are going to be open Friday, according to the commercial manager. If anything changes, an announcement will be made.
Consider whether it is worth it to go to a vulnerable area for a good deal when good deals are being extended and you can go shopping at a safer time.
