Costa Rica News – Stratus Video, a United States firm that provides interpretation services in real time, announced this past Wednesday that in 2016 it will begin operations in Costa Rica and expects to have a staff of 250 people by 2017.
According to a statement issued by the Costa Rican Coalition for Development Initiatives (CINDE), the service of Stratus Video is based on a technology that connects doctors with patients who do not speak English and through an interpreter on video that is solved.
This opens employment opportunities for bilingual people across the country, that meet the technical requirements for a telecommunications job. According to CINDE, the company expects to start work with 120 people, finished 2016 with a staff of 200 and reach 250 by 2017.
The Minister of Foreign Trade (Comex), Alexander Mora expressed that the announcement of the company Stratus reaffirms the validity and the competitiveness that Costa Rica has, as the best regional production platform for this type of service activities.
Juan Diego Villegas, CEO of Stratus Video in Latin America, said that Costa Rica was chosen as the first international destination for the company to start in January 2016, because the country has incredible bilingual talent and the people to provide this type of service. The Costa Ricans are further characterized by having an excellent customer service which is very important in this sector, and critical to the medical industry. In addition, the country has shown progress in communications and Internet connectivity.
Applicants must have a private and quiet space in the house where you they can install the computer and camera to work as interpreter. The company said it has a variety of schedules available.
