Costa Rica Business News – U.S. outsourcing firm Concentrix has set about building a new delivery center in Costa Rican town of Pavas, saying it would add another 700 people to its payroll in the Central American country.
The new center with 11,100 square meters of floor space is slated to be inaugurated sometime in December this year. The company says the new office will be so big that it can accommodate more than 1600 people.
The news comes just days after Synnex Corp announced that it had purchased Minacs and would soon integrate it into Concentrix. Fremont, California-based Concentrix is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Synnex.
Concentrix runs three delivery centers in the Costa Rican towns of San José, Pavas, and Heredia. All these centers will hire more employees by the end of this year.
According a statement, the new center is looking to hire managers, quality analysts and financial service representatives and customer care agents, who can speak in English, Spanish, French and German. For Concentrix, Costa Rica is one of its main bases for providing customer care and technical support services to clients in English and Spanish-speaking markets.
It is not clear how many are employed in Costa Rica. In a recent interview with Nearshore Americas, Manfred Kissling, Concentrix’s vice president and general manager in Latin America, said over 1,500 people are working for the company in San Jose alone.
Many outsourcing firms, including Convergys, have expanded operations in Costa Rica this year. According to the country’s investment promotion agency CINDE, the number of multinational firms in the service sector has grown 20-fold in the country over the past 15 years.
Concentrix is now celebrating ten years of operation in Costa Rica. It also runs delivery centers in several other Latin American countries, including Brazil, Colombia, Nicaragua and Uruguay.
