Costa Rica News – Costa Rica’s PANI has been operating mobile service units since last November.
These each carry an investment of ¢100 million, which includes the salaries of professionals operating them.
The buses go to rural areas such as along the borders, in the North Pacific and on the Caribbean coast.
They bring messages of nonviolence and positive parenting. Anyone interested can participate in the training offered.
Personal consultations are also accepted.
The buses each have specialists in psychology and social work who aim to help families avoid falling into aggression. It’s part of PANI’s preventative care plan.
The chief executive of the Board, Ana Teresa Leon, changed the model of resources so that now 40% goes to preventing violence and 60% to respond to emergencies. It used to be 10% and 90%.
