Costa Rica Sports – The Costa Rican men’s national soccer team will have a familiar face when they play in the Copa America.
Montreal Impact midfielder Johan Venegas will suit up for the Costa Rican national team at the 2016 Copa América Centenario.
The tournament runs from June 3 to 26 in the U.S. Venegas will join the national team following this weekend’s Impact game in Orlando.
Venegas, 27, has five goals in 22 games with the Costa Rican national team.
As part of Group A, Costa Rica will face Paraguay on June 4 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando and the United States at Soldier Field in Chicago on June 7 before concluding the group stage against Colombia on June 11 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
The top two teams of each group will reach the quarterfinals, to be played between June 16 and 18.
The semifinals will take place on June 21 and 22, the third-place match on June 25 in Phoenix and the final on June 26 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
