Costa Rica News & Events – Who is ready to see an air show in Costa Rica this Thanksgiving weekend?
The 2015 Air Challenge air show will occur thus Sunday in Puntarenas at 11:00 am.
The first Costa Rican air show took place in 2013 with more than 100,000 people attending, according to the Tourism Department of
Puntarenas.
The 2015 version of this event is expected to be bigger and have more attendance.
To avoid the traffic problems that were experienced in 2013, when more than 10,000 vehicles invaded the port, Marcela Muños, president of
the Puntarenas Tourism Chamber, said this year only 5,000 vehicles will be allowed into the city. There is only one road in and out so it
is easy to monitor these numbers.
If you plan on drinking and driving you might want to skip the event as 104 Traffic Cops have been put on duty to monitor this event.
Unless you plan on coming a day early it is recommended to use public transportation to get to Puntarenas. From San Jose, direct buses to
Puntarenas leave hourly, but during the event this number is expected to increase….but no new on exactly how many extra buses will be
running.
Tickets for the event start at 15.000 colones (about $30) and a VIP ticket is is running 50.000 colones (about $100). Tickets can be
purchased at www.publitickets.com
