Costa Rica Entertainment – The story of a woman has so many stages. A girl, the daughter of another, a woman coming into her own, then even becoming a mother and grandmother.
Director Roxana Avila has used this process as the theme of a play starring the Guatemalan actress Magdelena Morales.
The University Theater in San Pedro will present the work three times this weekend. It features poetry and puppetry and everything in between. The girl makes her journey through the stages of life.
She takes on an the emotional journey, through times of despair and times of joy. She sees her reflexion, her concerns, in the face of other women.
It tells a moving story. It’s subtle yet deep and moving.
This sweet, touching performance was first seen in Guatemala City and Antigua. The Tico version will add an acoustic guitar part from Oscar Jimenez.
