Costa Rica News – The National System of Conservation Areas (Sinac, derived from its name in Spanish) is working to make Costa Rica’s national parks more accessible for everyone who would like to enjoy the beautiful nature of the country.
The project’s mission is to build more infrastructures designed to accommodate the needs of visitors with physical or mental disabilities as well as individuals that use wheelchairs or other equipment to move.
The project identified a variety of locations where visitors were able to witness the diversity of the country’s ecosystems. These locations included Poas, Irazu, Carara, Santa Rosa, Manuel Antonio, and Guayabo National Monument.
Sinac began this project in 2002 and has since built a Universal path with full accessibility in Carara National Park.
As this initiative grows, Sinac will continue to bring the opportunity of enjoying nature to all visitors.
