FRIDAY: Holding SSW swell (215-195°) on Thursday, then starting to slowly ease on Friday. Long period forerunners of a new SSW swell start to move in on Friday. Look for surf to hang mainly within the waist-head high zone the next couple days at the better exposed breaks throughout the region. Select magnets will produce occasional overhead sets, which will be most prominent on Thursday during the best tides.
WEATHER/WIND: Most areas will see a typical diurnal wind pattern through the next couple days; calm to very light/variable to locally light-moderate offshore wind for the early to mid mornings (depending on the specific spot), before a moderate onshore seabreeze gradually develops over the late morning hours and into each afternoon. Good chance for the wind to back off into the evenings for a glassoff for many locations before dark, especially the more sheltered/tucked away spots.
Friday 05/01 – 0.9-1.5m – waist to head high – Old SSW swell starts to ease, but long period forerunners of a new SSW swell start to move in.
Saturday 05/02 -1.2-2.1m – Shoulder high to 0.6 m overhead occ. 2.4m – BIGGEST LATE with larger sets at standouts – New SSW swell builds in more.
