Costa Rica Entertainment – Every other year the International Festival of Arts is held in Costa Rica.
This year’s FIA will begin on April 23 and last for 11 days, each one bringing performance and visual arts, music, folklore, film, literature and architecture.
The events will take place in La Sabana, Acosta, Alajuelita, Aserrí and Desamparados.
Over 300 artists will share their talents in parks, churches and municipal areas throughout the metropolitan area.
The Ministry of Culture had a hard job choosing from 900 nominations sent in.
Groups will play pop, rock, indie, salsa, and fusion. Some of the artists who will participate include Intolerancia, Motor, Camila Moreno, Dr. Tripass, La Cuneta Son Machín and Lubín Barahona y Sus Caballeros del Ritmo.
One of the most anticipated events is the show by Barcelona’s theater company, La Tal. Nine national films are also sure to be popular.
The official schedule will be released two weeks prior to the event.
